Recognition Assembly today, no Math. Do 5 questions from the worksheet you have been working on for 2 step algebra.
Today students practiced solving 2 step algebra equations with fractions. See the video below if you need a review. HW = complete 5 questions of the algebra worksheet that is at your level and check the answers below. We reviewed the rules for solving algebraic equations from what we did with the algebra tiles today and yesterday. Click here for notes on how to solve for x (or any other variable). Remember to do opposites to isolate for x and whatever you do to one side you must do to the same side!!! Today's class we used the IPADs to go through the Algebra Touch App to practice solving algebra equations without tiles. We came up with the rules for solving algebraic equations from what we did with the algebra tiles and the app. Click here for notes on how to solve for x (or any other variable). Wo simple rules that we need to know a) do the opposite operation to isolate for x and b) whatever you do to one side you must do to the other.
HW = if you have not completed your Chapter 5 Test (Percent, Ratio and Rate) corrections then those are way overdue. Thanks Liam for the funny, but clean joke on my computer. April Fool's Day!!!! Today we discussed how to solve algebraic equations (solve for x) using tiles. See the vidoes below for examples and good explanations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpnzNmw1Mg8 (Note: stop after Two Step, do not do the Multi-step) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KWaU_6YU4w |
